Tuition, Fees, and Deposits
Tuition and student fees are
subject to yearly change. Details of the charges are published each year and
are available from the Admissions Office. The College Board of Directors
reserves the right to make changes in fees, tuition costs, as well as
cafeteria and dorm room charges at any change in semesters.
Below are brief explanations of
BBC’s tuition, fees, and deposits. Tuition and fees are charged on a per
semester basis.
Tuition
Tuition
charges for full-time students—BBC charges a flat rate of tuition for
anyone taking between 12 and 17 credit hours. Students who take over
seventeen hours are charged a “per hour” rate for the additional hours.
Generally, the charge for those additional hours is half the cost of the
normal “per hour” tuition.
Tuition
charges for part-time students—Part-time students taking between 1 and
11 credit hours pay a “per hour” tuition.
Audit Tuition—Audit
hours are charged a reduced “per hour” tuition that generally runs half the
cost of the normal “per hour” tuition. NOTE: Audit charges are not
refundable.
Fees
Fees charged
each semester:
Deferred
payment—A modest fee assessed only if you do not pay your bill in full.
Late
registration—Incurred only if you do not register during the normal
registration schedule.
Library—A
per-hour fee that underwrites the cost of operating the library.
Special fees:
Application (one
time only)*—You must pay this fee before your application for admission will
be processed.
Challenge (per
course)—Some alternative forms of receiving credit incur an additional
modest charge.
Change of
Registration—After the first week of class, you must pay a fee to alter your
class schedule.
Graduation—This
fee covers the cost of your cap and gown and other related expenses.
Incomplete—A fee
assessed if you request an extension in order to complete the requirements
for a course.
Special
exam—Required when scheduling a major exam to be taken at a time other than
the scheduled hour.
Private
lesson—For voice or instrument lessons. NOTE: Lesson fees are not refundable
after the third week.
Transcript—A
charge for preparing official transcripts.**
Room and Board
Charges for a
dormitory room include the cafeteria meal plan. On a space-available basis,
dorm residents can request a single-occupancy room for an additional charge.
Deposits (per semester)
Three types of
deposits are required for dormitory residents: a Room Reservation Deposit
(first time only), a Cleaning, Repair, and Replacement Deposit, and a Key
Deposit.***
*Application fees must be paid again if you fail to enroll
within two years of payment, or if you interrupt your studies at BBC for
four or more consecutive semesters.
**You are entitled to one free transcript. Official
transcripts will not be released if you are delinquent in paying your bill.
Final transcripts will be released when your bill is fully paid. Requests
for your transcript must be made by you in writing.
***The room reservation deposit will be applied to your rent.
The other two deposits are refundable at the close of the semester if no
damage or loss of college property attributable to you has occurred. A full
refund of the room reservation deposit will be made if canceled at least
thirty (30) days before the registration date.
