Alumni Association

The BBC Alumni Association is made up of graduates and those students who have completed more than 24 hours at BBC. Alumni President Dave Christensen (’96), minister at Eagle Christian Church, is anxious to encourage all alumni to participate in various activities at BBC.  Other officers include:

·   Vice President – Andy Morris (’85), professor at BBC

·   Secretary/Treasurer – Nick Duffel (’05), minister at Cherry Lane Christian Church

·   Alumni Delegate – Leon Rothauge (’98) house parent at Christian Children’s Ranch, Eagle

·   Alumni Delegate – Melanie Twite (’96), attending Cherry Lane Christian Church

Each year the association provides a $1,000 scholarship to a deserving upper-class student. This year the scholarship has been changed to be the Alumni Legacy Scholarship. Each year the first choice will be a deserving dependent or offspring of a BBC alumnus, either an upper-class student or an entering freshman. Alumni will benefit as they encourage their children and grandchildren to attend BBC. This year's recipients are Caleb Morris, Zyan Mayfield and Zayne Mayfield.

The association has funded a scholarship endowment to assist in the annual scholarship award. If you would like to assist with the $20,000 goal of providing funding for the scholarship endowment fund, please send your contribution to BBC, attention: Alumni Scholarship Fund.

Alumni News is carried in the college newsletter, The Outreach, and an Alumni newsletter is published semiannually. We encourage all alumni to communicate with the Development Department about your current and past ministries, your family events and plans for the future.

The primary alumni association activity surrounds the annual Spring Conference in May. On Monday night, May 7, the association gathered in the new chapel for their program, with refreshments afterward. No-host lunches were held in the new classroom addition on Wednesday during Spring Conference week. About twenty-five people met over lunch to fellowship and network with one another.

The Alumni is also involved in sponsoring various activities for the students. Each finals week, bags are provided containing sugar and caffeine goodies to snack on and help students through extended study times. The Alumni Association is involved as time and funds permit in encouraging students in social and study activities on campus. Annual dues are $20 and are used to help in these activities.
