Job Description: The American Indian Christian Mission is looking for someone who is mission minded and likes to work with children and church groups. AICM has a boarding school for Apache and Navajo children. The school is located near Show Low Arizona in the White Mountains. During the summer we host Ministry Teams, (usually teen youth groups) from churches all over the country that come out to our mission to do work projects and work with kids on the Fort Apache Indian Reservation. We also have summer camps for Apache children on our campus. We need interns during the summer to make sure the Ministry Teams get what they need, clean the dorms and linens after teams leave and help in other areas around our campus when needed (like help in the kitchen, help with work projects or with our summer camps). We need Inters from June 1st to August 5th 2018. This is a paid position: $100 a week and interns will receive free room and board. This is a good opportunity to help with a mission in the United States and enjoy the beautiful White Mountains of Arizona. We are at 6,500 ft, there are lots of pine trees, animals, hiking, swimming & its 70-80 degrees during summer. If you attend a Christian college and need ministry or mission credits just give us the needed paperwork and we will log your hours and send it to your college upon completion of your Internship. Minimum qualifications: Must be a college student or college graduate.

Job Description: The American Indian Christian Mission is looking for someone who has a mind and heart for missions and likes to work with people. We are looking for an Operations Director, whose primary responsibility will be in the area of human resources. He or she would also be responsible for all mission operations when the Executive Director is off campus. We would like to fill this position by January or February of 2018 – (however can be before or after). Minimum qualifications: have an education in business management, or have some experience in ministry leadership. A degree in business and experience managing staff or volunteers is preferred. We would like someone who is active in a Christian Church or Church of Christ type congregation. We would also like a commitment of at least 2 years.     Job Description: Volunteer Church Planters (Boise, ID) Brief Description: Now Forming a Church Plant Group: Calling all Spiritually Mature Christians (Boise, Idaho)

    GOAL: Looking to from a Church Planter Group consisting of Spiritually Mature Christians (Servant Leaders) who have felt a stirring to participate in a Boise based church plant. The name of the new church will be: The Boise Tabernacle Church.

    DETAILS: I'm prayerfully seeking to begin a mid-week group in Boise for spiritually mature Christians, of all ages, who have recently felt a stirring to be a part of a long-term non-denominational church plant (The Boise Tabernacle Church). This group would begin meeting sometime during the week, likely Monday or Tuesday evenings (for prayer, fellowship, planning and action).

    Again, this group would consist primarily of those with a stirring for being part of something Long-Term, because the ultimate goal would NOT be to "open a church organization" and have current Christians from other fellowships come and join a new "church" in town. Rather, the ultimate goal for this group would be to begin reaching the unreached in Boise with the good news of Jesus in order to establish a group of brand-new born again believers through the sharing of the gospel and subsequent discipleship. This takes time; it is long-term.

    The Boise Tabernacle Church will begin from scratch, beginning with the gathering of a group of passionate spiritually mature Christians with a heart to be a part of God's work in drawing others into a relationship with God through Jesus Christ and seeing these new believers to be matured into strong disciples.

    Supervisory: Resident Director appointed to Boys or Girls Dormitory

    Responsibility: Resident assistance is to provide spiritual support, encouragement and leadership to his/her community. The RA should be available to his/her residents and empower his/her residents to grow and develop as good citizens. To promote and enforce standards for appropriate Christian behavior, developing and enforcing standards for community behavior, and encouraging self-governance. Encourage residents to hold each other accountable for their behavior, confront, and document when necessary, any inappropriate resident behavior. Report such incidences to your director or other appropriate personnel in accordance with protocol. Confront individuals with Godly respect, consistency, and fairness at all times.

    Principal Duties:

    This position is for a 9-month school year and requires that you live in a house with our students, be available to mentor and advise as needed. Setting a Godly example for these young people, encouraging spiritual growth and accountability with education requirements. Encouraging them to grow in maturity in their desire for God and a love for His Word, encouraging them to embrace the sacrifice and salvation offered by Jesus Christ and learn how to serve and impact others for Christ.

    Role model healthy personal behavior – i.e. sleep, balance between jobs, academic and social life, class attendance and study, stress management, and time management.

    • Demonstrate active listening skills when responding to resident issues.
    • Initiate conversation with residents who appear to be experiencing problems and offer assistance.
    • Encourage residents to talk to each other when they experience conflicts with each other.
    • Defend and support the rights and dignity of every individual resident.
    • Establish and Implement House Keeping and Chore schedule.
    • Encourage the continual development of good personal hygiene habits: e.g. bathing, brushing teeth, shampooing, changing of clothes, etc...
    • Be alert to the health needs of the Resident. Report to Resident Director or Superintendent any illnesses requiring medical attention.
    • Work with all resident assistances in the care for those who are ill or injured by proper administration of first aid, appropriate medications, bed rest, etc...
    • Keep the Residential Directors and Superintendent aware of any special medical needs such as glasses, dental care, etc...
    • Check with residents that their school work/home work is being completed. If in need of tutoring please encourage resident to talk with teacher or principal for tutoring.
    • Attend and participate in staff meetings, workshops and institutes designed for in-service training.
    • Assist, when called upon, in entertaining of special groups visiting the school.
    • Work closely with residential directors, superintendent, principal and teachers in providing an atmosphere of cordiality and cooperation.
    • Be in the dorms anytime a resident is in their room or on the floor.
    • Be responsible for the Dorm/House, equipment, buildings, and the area of the grounds assigned to each dorm. Needed repairs or equipment failures should be reported to the office or the person in charge of maintenance. Repair it yourself if possible.
    • Necessary Qualifications
    • Over 21 years old in reasonable good health.
    • Contributes to Ekklesia’s general work.
    • Active member of a Christian Church or Church of Christ.
    • Does not use tobacco, alcohol, illegal drugs, profane and vulgar language, and habits detrimental to the resident’s Christian development.
    • Qualified, valid driver’s licenses.
    • Current federal criminal background check and fingerprints or willing to get one.
    • High School Diploma is required further education/training/certification encouraged.
    • Good time management and able to teach good work ethics.
    • Filing necessary reports and keeping current on residents that you have in your care. Provide the records and forms that are needed and requested from time to time. Also, observe the specific procedures that are, or will become, a part of the operating policy.
    • At least 2 years of experience with children.

    Wyoming is a glamorous Rocky Mountain State. It occupies some 98,000 square miles of territory, most of which is open country of a desert or semi desert nature. Its plateaus are 3,800 feet in elevation or above (most of it far above). Our plains are cut by great mountain ranges. Many of these are stark desert mountains, beautiful in their own right, but depressing in their absence of vegetation. The Red Desert in the southwest occupies close to a quarter of our state. Towns are few, far apart, and small in population.

    Winters are extremely cold in places and can be very long. Temperatures sometimes reach 50 degrees below zero in some areas. Correspondingly, churches here are smaller – our largest churches have an attendance of 200 – 300, the average church runs around 40 – 50, and many of them run 20 or under. We have approximately 100 Southern Baptist churches and missions in the state. Half of the pastors are bi-vocational. All experience various degrees of loneliness and struggle. This is NOT the “Bible belt”.

    Lyman is in Bridger Valley, which has 3 small towns, Lyman, Mt. View, and Fort Bridger, in a ranching community at an elevation of over 6800 feet. Trona mining is the largest industry in this area. The miners work a shift schedule. The men in our church have different days off, which means some of them never have the same days off. They each work 2 Sundays each month.

    Summers are short and attendance is even lower with everyone doing vacations and taking time to escape when weather allows. Because of the mountain desert area winds arrive almost daily, reaching speeds of 40 – 50 mph. It is a dry environment and the sun damage can be harsh.

    We are 36 miles away from the nearest Wal-Mart in Evanston (population 12,000). There is a small grocery store, Family Dollar, and Shopko (with pharmacy) in Mountain View. Salt Lake City (population over 200,000) is almost 2 hours away. Rock Springs (population 23,000) is 65 miles to the east.
