Job Description:Normandy Christian Church is located in beautiful Des Moines, Washington (a suburb of Seattle). We are a church that exists to “turn people into fully devoted followers of Jesus.” We are looking for a children’s minister who will help turn children and parents into fully devoted followers of Jesus. The position is part-time (20 hours/week). Our congregation is unique in that a large percentage of the weekly attendance is part of a faith-based “live-in” recovery program called Praisealujah (a ministry that attends Normandy). Many of the children at Normandy are children who are being reconciled to their parents who are far along in the recovery program. We are a “come as you are” type of congregation. We love Jesus, love people and believe the Bible is God’s Word and must be the basis for all our teaching. Our weekly Sunday attendance is about 200 including about 12-15 children. God is growing His church, we look to potentially adding a 3rd (Sunday Evening) service in the future. Your main responsibilities would be to lead the children’s ministry (birth-6th grade); organize classes for 2 Sunday morning services; recruit, train, and pray for volunteers; choose curriculum for each program; equip parents to be the primary disciple-makers of their children; help the Spiritual Formation Director plan classes/resources for parenting; and organize and lead children events throughout the year (camp, outreach events, vbs).
