Spring Conference | Called to Awesomeness: The Awesomeness of God

May 9-11, 2017

The morning program features guest speakers Wes Wright, Terry O’Casey and Kevin Skidmore. There will also be workshops available each morning at 9:45 and 11 am that are designed to encourage and inspire you to walk closer with God! There are four workshops available each hour and each morning speaker will present a workshop to follow up their sermons. Each workshop will be repeated so that you have greater chance to enjoy as many as possible. Additional workshop presenters will be Bill Krause, Robert Wood, Charles Faber, Chuck McCoy, Dr. Derek Voorhees, John Suits, Russell Grove, Dr. Steven Crane, George Johnson, Mike Yunker, Amber Grove and Rebecca Hasagawa.

Jeff Walling: For more than 20 years, Jeff Walling has been speaking before thousands each year in inspirational and motivational workshops and seminars across the globe. Having preached for some of the largest churches in the country, he is regularly called on to keynote for youth conferences. His international speaking schedule has taken him to lecture on five continents including a tour in South Africa, seminars in Japan and Australia, and presentations at the Kiev Polytechnical Institute in the former Soviet Union.

Not only has he become a favorite speaker and teacher at Christian gatherings, but corporations and groups from Equifirst and Bank of America to the Federal Aviation Administration have also benefitted from Mr. Walling’s time-tested and enthusiastically presented materials. Videos and audio series, featuring Mr. Walling, have been used in over 1,500 schools and churches nationally. As a church leader, teacher, author, and father of three boys, Jeff brings experience and wit to his presentations on communication, creativity, team development, and relationship building. His dynamic style and creative use of humor are trademarks of his management seminars for colleges and businesses.

Jeff received his bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Irvine in speech/communication, MS in Ministry from Pepperdine University, and received an honorary doctorate from Hope University in Fullerton, California.

Jeff and his wife Cathryn live in Malibu, California. He serves there as the Director of the Youth Leadership Initiative at Pepperdine University, working to raise up the next generation of young Christian leaders.

Morning Guest Speakers

Wes Wright: Wes has been preaching at Santa Clara Church of Christ since 2008. He is originally from Missouri, but moved to Oregon to help lead the church. He has a M.Div., and a D.Min., and he has taught at St. Louis Christian College, and Northwest Christian University. He is Jo’s husband and Micah and Samantha’s father. Sissy is his daughter-in-law and he has the world’s best grandson named Calvin. Wes directs Family Camp at Grove Christian Camp over Labor Day Weekend.

Terry O’Casey: Terry has ministered in the Northwest for 27 years specializing in struggling turn-around rural churches from the coast of Oregon to the High desert/mountains of Bend. Terry received his Master’s in New Testament from Fuller and his Doctorate from George Fox University. He is an Associate Professor of Christian Ministry and Bible at Northwest Christian University in Eugene, OR. Terry and his wife carol live on a farm in Tumalo, Oregon and have three kids, Elizabeth, 30, Michael, 27, and Isaac, 22 and one incredible grandson, Owen Rogue.

Kevin Skidmore: Kevin has been the preaching minister at Boise Church of Christ since 2007. He is an adjunct professor in the communication department at BSU and teaches for Oklahoma Christian University at the Center on the BSU campus. He is a motivational speaker, Communication Consultant, Trainer and Coach He is a member of the Meridian Kiwanis Club. He has a communication degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia and a Masters of Arts in Speech, Communication, and Rhetoric with 19 hours in religious studies from Eastern New Mexico University.
