Intercultural Studies Minor

Program Objectives

The Intercultural Studies minor is designed to help you accomplish several goals:

  1. You will develop a cultural awareness that will enhance your effectiveness in ministry.
  2. You will be able to develop missionary strategies based on models that have a strong biblical foundation and a proven track record.
  3. You will have a general knowledge of the skills needed to serve effectively in cross-cultural settings.

Description

The Intercultural Studies minor is made up of three components:

  1. Intercultural Studies Core, a series of courses designed to teach essential skills for anyone working in the field of intercultural ministry.
  2. Guided Electives, a “menu” of courses, any of which would prove valuable in the field of intercultural ministry, from which you can choose based on your personal goals and interests.
  3. Internship, an opportunity for you to learn intercultural ministry through practical field experience.

  1. You will be able to research, write, and deliver effective Christian sermons.
  2. You will be equipped to organize and administer basic church programs.
  3. You will be prepared to reach and teach others for Christ.
  4. You will be able to more adequately strengthen Christians through biblical teaching.
