Right to Make Changes Without Further Notice

The College reserves the right to make changes in calendar, programs, courses, degree requirements, tuition, fees, refunds, and other matters without further notice.

Nondiscrimination

"The College admits students of any age, race, color, and national or ethnic origin. Such students are admitted to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally available to students at this college. Article VIII of our Articles of Incorporation also states this nondiscriminatory policy.

Official Statistics, Comparison Data

BBC encourages prospective students to be fully informed before enrolling at BBC or any other college. The United States Department of Education makes available a "College Navigator" which presents reliable data about U.S. colleges in a format that facilitates accurate comparisons by providing official data in a standardized format.

Below we have identified common information prospective students might seek about BBC. The following links will take you outside the Boise Bible College website and redirect you to historic and official data about BBC found in USDE's College Navigator.

Conduct Agreement

Your application for admission indicates your agreement to abide by BBC's regulations as detailed in the current Catalog and the Student Handbook. This is not negotiable, and failure to comply may result in administrative probation and/or dismissal from the College.

The College believes that its allegiance to the doctrinal and ethical standards of the Bible would be compromised by admitting students whose sexual orientation is directed toward members of their own gender. The College therefore reserves the right to refuse admission to anyone embracing the homosexual lifestyle. Application for admission from someone with such orientation may be considered following an interview with the Dean of Students, repentance before God, and a stated willingness to forsake the homosexual lifestyle.

See the Catalog for details of BBC's "Code of Conduct."

Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (Right to Privacy, Access to Records, and Release of Information)

On November 19, 1974, Public Law 93-380, entitled The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), became effective. The law provides for:

  • Inspection of education records by a student.
  • The opportunity through a hearing for a student to challenge the contents of the records.
  • The written permission, with certain exceptions, of the student for release of the education records.
  • Maintenance of a record of individuals who, in certain situations, inspect the file.
  • The right to file a complaint with the Family Policy Compliance Office.

The college supports the intent of the law and, to the best of its ability, will provide the rights and privileges specified by the law. To safeguard student records, the College cannot release transcripts to third parties unless the request is made in writing and signed by the student.

Transfer of Credit

Courses taken at another accredited post-secondary institution may be accepted to meet requirements for our degrees at the discretion of the registrar. Normally, to have credits transfer, classes taken at other institutions must be equivalent to or exceed our course requirements and you must have achieved a grade equivalence of "C" (2.00) or better. We do not transfer credits assigned a "Pass/Fail" grade. Transfer credits apply toward graduation requirements, but not toward your GPA; see the Catalog for details on limits on the number of transfer credits applicable towards graduation. If you are transferring from an unaccredited institution with which BBC has had no experience, you may be required to provide some or all of the following: course syllabus, notes, faculty credentials, and college catalog. Some institutions give credits in quarter hours rather than semester hours. A quarter hour is considered to be equivalent to two-thirds of a semester credit hour.

Notification of Rights under FERPA for Postsecondary Institutions

The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) affords students certain rights with respect to their education records. These rights are:

The right to inspect and review the student's education records within 45 days of the day Boise Bible College receives a request for access.

Students should submit to the academic dean a written request that identifies the record(s) they wish to inspect. The academic dean will make arrangements for access and notify the student of the time and place where the records may be inspected. If the records are not maintained by the academic office, the academic dean shall advise the student of the correct person to whom the request should be addressed.

The right to request the amendment of the student's education records that the student believes is inaccurate or misleading.

Students may ask Boise Bible College to amend a record that they believe is inaccurate or misleading. They should write the official responsible for the record, clearly identify the part of the record they want changed, and specify why it is inaccurate or misleading. If Boise Bible College decides not to amend the record as requested by the student, Boise Bible College will notify the student of the decision and advise the student of his or her right to a hearing regarding the request for amendment. Additional information regarding the hearing procedures will be provided to the student when notified of the right to a hearing.

The right to consent to disclosures of personally identifiable information contained in the student's education records except to the extent that FERPA authorizes disclosure without consent.

One exception, which permits disclosure without consent, is disclosure to school officials with legitimate educational interests. A school official is defined as a person employed by Boise Bible College in an administrative, supervisory, academic, or support staff position; a person or company with whom Boise Bible College has contracted (such as an attorney, auditor, or collection agent); a person serving on the Board of Trustees: or assisting another school official in performing his or her tasks. A school official has a legitimate educational interest if the official needs to review an education record in order to fulfill his or her professional responsibility.

The right to file a complaint with the U.S. Department of Education concerning alleged failures by Boise Bible College to comply with the requirements of FERPA.

The name and address of the Office that administers FERPA is:
